If your dog has been diagnosed with Degenerative Lumbosacral Stenosis (DLSS) — sometimes called cauda equina syndrome — you may have noticed they’re reluctant to jump, seem stiff when rising, or even show signs of weakness in their back legs.
This condition happens when the nerves at the base of the spine become squeezed and irritated, leading to pain, weakness, and sometimes problems with the tail or bladder. It’s common in active, large-breed dogs, and even more so in working dogs.
